Yes, no less that Monsieur Poirot masquerading as John Olson, took time out from his busy sleuthing schedule to mince into the Bowral Golf club's Bastille Night. He didn't appear to be solving very much, but chose, on this occasion to enter into the spirit of the sparkling occasion.
Other notable attendees included a Frenchman (albeit with an Italian sounding name) Kevin Ferrari, wielding a genuine Baguette, purchased in Paris the day before. Also, the miniature French Poodle, Fifi, flown in for the occasion by her owner, Jennie Ogg.
There were berets galore, donned for their annual outing, and lots of red white & blue of the French tradition. Judy Mawbey had a longish frilled skirt which she swished around on the dance floor in true can-can style!
Nobility and hoi polloi mingled happily for this evening of music, dancing and singing of the Marseillaise.
Delicious boeuf bourguignon, vegetables flavoured with tarragon followed by a wonderful apple & raspberry sponge pudding.
Everyone had a wonderful time!
